We have been working with Mozilla since 2010, seeing the Toronto office grow from 3,000 sq. ft. to their current 17,000 sq. ft. home. In 2015 we completed our third collaboration, a major update to Mozilla’s space that now needs to support a much stronger and broader organization.
Challenges and Goals
  • Company headquarters in Mountainview, California, made it a challenge to coordinate and transfer organizational culture across 5,000km and a 3-hour time difference.
  • Toronto office was to become a “look, feel, and internal branding template” for Mozilla’s offices around the world.
  • High growth estimates required an over-sized space from the start. An office that would eventually hold 120 staff needed to immediately feel like home to the initial 40 team members.
  • The space had to accommodate the everyday operations as well as the larger community workshops and events.
Solution and Results

Flexible, welcoming, and functional space geared towards attracting and retaining engaged, energetic “doers” actively committed to the brand and the community

Located in the downtown core, the brick-and-beam building combines an urban edge with a welcoming atmosphere. Multiple casual collaboration spaces with soft seating and huddle spaces further add to the warm ambiance.

Technology seamlessly integrated throughout the space ensures easy and reliable communication across the company’s international locations.

Multi-functional spaces partitioned for daily use and easily convertible to large open areas for community gatherings.
